Proprietors Steve and Doug moved from America to Steve's hometown of Adelaide after living in the gorgeous metropolis of Seattle, Washington for 25 years. We had often talked of opening a little cafe by the beach somewhere in Australia and are thrilled to have ended up just two blocks from the beach in Henley! It was a very proud day when we opened Yankee Cafe on Halloween of 2013 and our menu offers authentic American food that includes both savory and sweet recipes. Our classic sandwiches include the Reuben, the Sloppy Joe and the New Orleans chicken fried steak with a special Southern seasoning blend. Our smoked beef Hot Dogs and Burgers have great flavor combinations and are served in true Yankee style . . . on a butter grilled bun! We carry a large variety of warm toasted Bagels sandwiches and satisfying French baguette sandwiches. We also serve awesome Mexican food such as Chicken Enchiladas Verde, Fish Tacos and big, fat burritos with spanish rice, black beans, carne asada steak and corn relish. On the sweet side of things, we hand make our own authentic cake and raised donuts and offer a variety of cookies, baked goods, our delicious key lime pie, milkshakes and ice cream treats.
